Black and ethnic minority experiences

There are as many ethnic backgrounds in the Deaf community as there are in the hearing world. Deafness can be viewed in many different ways depending on a person's cultural background. Some people feel isolated by their ethnic background, and then isolated again by being deaf.

 

There are groups of Deaf people from various different backgrounds that provide support and information. The list below is not exhaustive. If you know of other groups then please do let us know.
